Gigi’s Catch of the Day is an EP from young Irish electronic musician and producer RL/VL. The EP features of lo-fi mixture of field recordings, ambient electronica and tape music, effortlessly fusing the abstract with the melodic to produce a pleasing, warm and layered 45 minute journey of music (making it more of an album than an EP). Ranging from peaceful ambient explorations to more beat led melodic pieces, with a maturity of sound beyond his 18 years of age, RL/VL is definitely one to watch. Highly recommended. Listen: dome
