Brassica

Brassica is the name used for solo music by London-based Michael Anthony Wright (Achrid, Minus Two Quartet, Dead Life Portrait). Michael started his early musical life playing in Kent hardcore and metal bands before moving to London to study Sound Arts and Design at the London College of Communication. He has remained in London since and plays an active part in London's experimental and electronic music scene.

The Brassica sound is built from a mixture of analog and digital electronics, upright bass, acoustic guitars, cracked software, field recordings, found sounds, borrowed and found instruments. The sounds are collected into a digital scrapbook (a laptop, basically) and arranged into narratives exploring memory and the effect of the digital era upon events which shape our being.
